WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRODERMABRASION?

DOES MICRODERMABRASION HURT?

HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN AFTER MICRODERMABRASION?
 
Aftercare is very important in the days following a microdermabrasion facial. Make sure your new skin is moisturised regularly - in the week following a treatment like this, your skin will be prone to drying out. You can use an anti-inflammatory cream or cooling gel directly after the treatment to soothe any tenderness. Use a gentle cleanser when washing your face, treat your skin with tender care, using cool or lukewarm water. Try your best to avoid scratching at all or touching the new skin too much - it will be sensitive but it will renew of its own accord with time. We recommend using the Essentials Deep Hydration Moisture Cream and the Perfect Complexion SPF50 sunscreen.
 
WHAT ARE MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENTS GOOD FOR?
 
The basic definition of microdermabrasion is ‘light physical exfoliation’. It is a great procedure or treatment to have when your skin needs a really good deep clean. Removing the uppermost layers of skin allows the body to replace the skin cells lost, with newer healthier ones. It stimulated blood flow meaning your skin’s elasticity is improved making your skin smoother to touch.
 
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS OF MICRODERMABRASION LAST?
 
Approximately 2 - 4 weeks. Our skin typically regenerates at intervals of about a month. Microdermabrasion treatments are only temporary and will need to be repeated once or twice a month for you to see the results you want. For continued improvement for acne-prone skin, a block of 12 treatments is usually recommended as the intensity can be varied depending on progress.

Yes. Most skin types will benefit from microdermabrasion treatment. It is best to speak to someone experienced about your skin, especially if it has been problematic or going through any changes.
